[Intro: Vanessa Ifediora]
My loneliness reverberates around the thin cold walls
It's where I sleep, where I work
It's where I daydream
[Verse 1: Emma Langford]
I've been holding out on you these past nights
Hoping you'd find me yourself before light
Dreams they don’t come to me willingly now
Darkness no comfort, silence no shroud
I have to reason where reason allows
These eyes grow weary now tracing the lines
Counting the cracks in a grey plaster sky
Dreams don't entice them to rest for a while
Dreams are the locked box kept deep in the mind
And some fear what hides behind their own closed eyes
[Chorus: Emma Langford]
I’ve been sowing acorns in my densely woven mind
I’ve been growing trees from memories for us to climb
And when we reach the top what will we see?
And when we’ve climbed them all what will we dream?
Or will we dream?
Will we dream?
[Interlude: Vanessa Ifediora]
My bed is the safest and saddest place I know. It's where I wrap a tired arm around myself when my skin hurts from exhaustion
My bed is where I decide to survive
[Verse 2: Emma Langford]
So sleep will come to me now willingly
Peaceful and dreamless will overcome me
Words fade, this jaded mind gives up the fight
Worries and thoughts tangle, twist and unwind
Lost now I drift in this blue black of night
[Chorus: Emma Langford]
I’ve been sowing acorns in my densely woven mind
I’ve been growing trees from memories for us to climb
And when we reach the top what will we see?
And when we’ve climbed them all what will we dream?
Or will we dream?
Oh, will we dream?
Oh, will we dream?
[Outro: Vanessa Ifediora, Emma Langford]
My bed is where inspiration comes, where I drew my sketches (Oh will we dream)
It's where I wrote these words
My bed is where I imagine a gentle hand holding mine

My sister told me to buy white sheets.
She said it would make my tiny box room seem bigger.
I've never had white sheets, I told her they looked clinical.
I wanted the soft pink set that was out of stock for single beds.
I took the white sheets home instead.
My bed is the safest and saddest place I know.
It's where I wrap a tired arm around myself
when my skin hurts from exhaustion,
where my loneliness reverberates around the thin, cold walls.
It's where I sleep, where I work, it's where I daydream
and where I battle with myself,
shielding my tired eyes from the glaring ceiling light.
My bed is where inspiration comes, where I drew my sketches.
It's where I wrote these words.
My bed is where I imagine a gentle hand holding mine.
My bed is where I decide to survive.

This EP features the album recording of Sowing Acorns, a reading by Vanessa Ifediora of her poem Off-White Sheets which is sampled on the track, remixes by Gráinne Fahy & Arvo Party, and a home-recorded acoustic rendition of the song.
The artwork was created by Gráinne Fahy, with one image based on a childhood photo, and the other on a recent photo by Belfast photographer Conor Kerr
